If you want to find one of the brightest basketball stars in Arkansas, look no further than Fort Smith, where eight-year-old Damonte "Bubba Spiro" Manion is tearing up the basketball court and drawing attention beyond the Natural State.
“Damonte is, hands down, the best in the area and will soon be among some of the ranked in the country,” 42 Sports owner Allen Russell said. “He has played against some of the top second-grade teams in the country and did his thing.”
As a member of the Diamond State Hoyas, Manion has excelled against some of the toughest competition in the country. Against top-ranked Let It Fly 2028 (Alabama), the second-grader scored 18 points and added a 16-point performance against No. 3 Oklahoma Chaos.
"Manion is really good at finishing around the rim," Russell said. "He is deadly in the paint."
The future is bright for the Spiro, OK native whose game continues to improve each day. Look for Manion and the Hoyas to continue to light up the scoreboard across Arkansas as they continue their journey toward basketball greatness.
